Sharing Hops Rhizomes
What are the odds of some of you hops-growers sharing (for a nominal fee of course) some of the rhizomes from your plants?

I grow Cascade, Centennial, Fuggles, and Yakima Magnum. I will have a quantity of Cascade and Fuggles rhizomes available this spring. Those mounds are 4 years old and really established. I can not say for certain how many rhizomes I will be able to harvest from the Magnum or Centennial. Next spring will only be their second season.

Rusty,
Can you put together a quick presentation about quick tips and tricks for successful growing?
and if anyone else has tips/tricks bring them to share.

NP, I actually still have all the paperwork and instructions that Hop Tech gave me when I bought mine back in 2003.
Sure, I can make several copies for people to look at or take home.

I have Nugget and Centenial that can be split. Just not that sure how to go about it and the best time to do it.
The nugget are the ones really going wild so I would be glad to give some up if someone shows up with a little knowhow.

Right now is the best time to split/plant. I'm planning on digging up a bunch of the roots (rhizomes) just prior to next monday's meeting and cutting them to 4-6" long. As long as they don't dry out and stay fresh or damp they'll grow fine. Whoever takes them will need to get them in dirt ASAP

Re: Sharing Hops Rhizomes
I just got my ebay rhizomes in the mail yesterday, and they promptly went in the ground. Ebay rhizome sellers rock...if you find a good seller, you'll usually get 2 or 3 finger thick rhizomes with several nodes on each for less than $10 including postage.
Also, if your established hops are beginning to bud like mine are, be ready to cover them at night when there is fear of frost or extreme low temperatures forecast.
Just a thought
